This article, Building Anti-Bias Early Childhood Programs: The Role of the Leader (Derman-Sparks et al., 2015), although not as current as others this week, speaks specifically of the role of a leader in creating an anti-bias program. This article discusses how to support educators to become anti-bias advocates, how to manage conflict and disagreements about anti-bias work, and how to move forward to be an advocate of anti-bias. You will see a lot of these same themes come up later in this class and in future classes in this program.
